A special election will be held on November 6, 2018, for the purpose of placing
the question as to the re-imposition of a
one (1%) percent sales and use tax for
a period of six (6) years to be voted on
by the voters of Jenkins County, Georgia.
YOU WILL VOTE “YES” OR “NO” ON
THE FOLLOWING QUESTION:
Shall a special one percent sales and
use tax be re-imposed in Jenkins County
for a period of time not to exceed six (6)
years and for the raising of an estimated
amount of $4,320,000 for the purposes
of: (i) $300,000 to finalize the funding for
the construction of the County Jail; (ii)
$400,000 for funding the final phase of
the Courthouse remodel; (iii) $200,000
for funding the remodel of the Health
Department; (iv) $2,223,000 for county
public safety buildings and equipment,
general government equipment, road
and landfill equipment, road and bridge
improvements, recreation department,
and county buildings and equipment;
and (v)$1,197,000 for City of Millen
utility improvements, police and fire
department equipment, public works
equipment, and administrative capital
