Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540 and 48-5-212, a special election shall be held in Jenkins County to fill the vacancy in the office of Jenkins County Tax Commissioner, caused by the resignation of the Honorable Brenda B. Mathern. The special election will be held on November 4, 2014 in conjunction with the General Election.

Qualifying for the special election shall be held at Jenkins County Courthouse- Probate Court 611 East Winthrope Avenue Millen, Georgia 30442, beginning at 9: 00 a. m. on July 28, 2014 and ending at 5:00 p.m. on July 30, 2014. The qualifying fee shall be $1,229.03. All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on October 6, 2014.

Advance (Mail-Out-Absentee) Voting begins on September 16, 2014 at 8:30

a.m. and ends on October 31, 2014 at 5: 00 p. m.
