In article on a meeting of the Jenkins County Commissioners that appeared in the Jan. 25 issue, The Millen News reported that 3.48 miles on Old Louisville Road was approved for paving under the state’s LARP program.

Funding available for youth programs

The East Central Georgia Consortium Chief Elected Officials and Workforce Development Board announce that funding is now available for Youth Programs to serve the counties of Columbia, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington, and Wilkes.

Conservation program signup begins March 12

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Director, Hobby Stripling, announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will conduct a four-week Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general signup. This CRP signup will begin on March 12 and end on April 6.

Millen Garden Council to hold flower show

The Millen Garden Council will sponsor a Standard show entitled “Southern Charm” 2-5 p.m. March 3 at the home of Jerry and Patricia McMillan, 360 College Avenue. All entries for all divisions must be entered on Friday, March 2 between 4- 6 p.m. or Saturday, March 3, between 7:30-9 a.m. Exhibits must be staged and ready for judging at 10 a.m.
