Allen Burke and Christina Elmore exchanged wedding vows 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the 100-year old Garfield United Methodist Church in Garfield.

Dr. D.R. Parker performed the lovely double ring ceremony. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. D.R. Parker. She also accompanied her daughter, Dorrie Johnson, as she sang "The Irish Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord’s Prayer." Patrick Parker sang "I Cross My Heart" and accompanied himself on the guitar.

The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jay Elmore and Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Elmore of Millen.

The groom’s parents are Mrs. Hilda Vinson of North Augusta, S.C. and Albert Burke of Garfield.

Miss Elmore was given in marriage by her father, Jay Elmore, and her grandfather C.H. Elmore. She wore an ivory organza, two piece A-line gown with multi-colored beaded and embroidered bodice and hemline, by Oleg Cassini Exclusive Collection. Her bridal bouquet of dainty flowers complimented the delicate embroidery of her gown. Her fingertip veil of ivory tulle flowed from a tiara accented with rhinestones.

Danielle Elmore, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She wore a full-length dress of apple red satin and carried a bouquet of red long-stemmed roses with ivory organza ribbons. Brett Burke, nephew of the groom, served as best man. C.J. Elmore, brother of the bride, and Bobby and Preston Golis, cousins of the bride, served as ushers.

The reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, followed the wedding ceremony. The couple spent their honeymoon in Ormond Beach, Fla.
