Summer school at Jenkins County Elementary will begin Monday, June 13. The program will run for three weeks, five days per week and four hours each day. Priority placement will be given to students needing extra help.
Athletic Boosters
The Jenkins County Athletic Booster Club will hold a special called meeting 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, at the Planters Electric Membership Corp. office located on U.S. Highway 25 North.
Eagle football
The following announcements are made concerning Jenkins County High School (JCHS) football.
The weight room will be open 5 – 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday starting Monday, June 13. Weight training will be from 5 – 7 p.m. and workouts with quarterbacks, receivers, running backs and secondary will take place after weight training.
The first day of varsity practice will be Monday, July 18. The varsity squad will have two-a-day practices. Morning practice will be held 8:30 a.m. – noon and afternoon practice will be held 4 – 6 p.m.
JCHS varsity football will attend camp at South Georgia College. Players will need to meet at JCHS 1 p.m. Sunday, July 24.
Picture day will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the stadium.
C-Team football practice will be held once a day, at 8:30 a.m., beginning Monday, July 18.
Astronomy
The Georgia Southern Botanical Garden will host an evening of star watching 9 – 10 p.m. Saturday, June 25. The program is free and open to the public. You may bring a telescope if you have one, but telescopes will be available.

Cookbook
Recipes are needed immediately for the Jenkins County Centennial Celebration cookbook. You may submit up to five recipes, which can be written on plain paper; recipe forms are not required.
Please turn in recipes to the Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce office as soon as possible.
CRCT Test Results
Parents and guardians are encouraged to pick up a copy of their child’s CRCT score reports on Wednesday, June 15, from noon-3 p.m.
Test score reports will only be released to the parent or guardian of a child.
This will be the only time that CRCT scores will be available for pick-up during the summer. If you do not pick up your child’s score report at this time, they will be available for pick-up during open house at the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year.
