William Talton of 3756 Hiltonia-Perkins Road has been charged with felony murder in connection with the Saturday, July 23, death of Leon Lockett, 38, of 1722 Beaverdam Road, Perkins.

Jenkins County Sheriff Tim Fields said Lockett sustained stab injured during an altercation that occurred in the Beaverdam area of the county. He was pronounced dead at the Jenkins County Hospital, and his body was sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (G.B.I.) crime lab in Atlanta to determine the exact cause of death.

The incident remains under investigation by the G.B.I., said Sheriff Fields.
