Letter to the Editor
We would like to say a big thanks to all who are attempting to make a difference in our upcoming school year.
First, we would like to acknowledge our new head football coach, Chuck Conley.
You are an answer to many parents’ prayers in Jenkins County. Already you and your family are creating a positive atmosphere with your actions. We hope all of the community will join the wave of making a difference for our students by supporting the Jenkins County football team. Last Sunday, as we gathered together to send our boys off to camp, Coach Conley inspired parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends to work together to see a change that is about to happen in Jenkins County. All that participated in this assembly realized that we are going to be a part of a first class movement for our county.
Second, it has been a blessing to see parents pulling together to make a difference for our children. Just as coach Conley mentioned on Sunday, this change is going to take everyone working together. It cannot be just a few people trying to run the show. We are seeing evidence of good things happening by people working together. For instance, take a look at our new goal post on our newly renovated football field. Our fighting Eagles will surely soar with pride to know that they are finally getting the best in so many ways. Parents, let’s continue to work to insure our children get top quality in all ways. Our children in Jenkins County do deserve the best.
Lastly, we want to commend our children. They are the reason that we truly want to see things turn around for the better. Our cheerleaders did an outstanding job welcoming our boys’ home from camp. We are so blessed to have so many awesome boys and girls in our school system. Take the time to talk with some of our students and you will see what potential is rising in Jenkins County.
Now, we want to encourage the citizens of Jenkins County to come out and support our Eagles. Let’s show our children and our football staff just how proud we are of them.
Proud parents of four Jenkins County Eagles,
Robert and Linda Jenkins
