Mary Waters Turner, 79, of Sylvania died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at her residence near Bay Branch Community.

Her funeral was held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at Bay Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Pressey officiating. Burial was in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Jenkins County.

Mrs. Turner, a native of Screven County, was a homemaker. She was a member of Bay Branch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Turner Jr.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda T. and Jim Winskey of Statesboro and Debra T. Bryan of Sylvania; two sisters, Juel W. Turner of Millen and Miriam W. Gay of Columbia, S.C.; and two grandsons, Ethan Winskey of Statesboro and Evan Bryan of Sylvania.

Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home of Sylvania was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
