Printmaking, ink painting set at library workshop
The Jenkins County Memorial Library will present "Printmaking and Ink Painting," a "Just My Imagination" workshop sponsored by the Georgia Museum of Art, 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. The program is free, and it is recommended for families with children who are 6 years of age and older. Space is limited to 25 participants. Please call (478) 982-4244 for reservations.
The two-hour workshop introduces the world of watercolors by offering participants the opportunity to sketch, complete a contour drawing and paint a still life. Athens artist and teacher Jackie Slayton Methe will begin the workshop with a discussion about printmaking and sumi-e painting, followed by a demonstration of techniques and brush strokes.
Just My Imagination workshops are organized and sponsored by the Georgia Museum of Art and are co-sponsored by the Sun Trust Directed Funds: Nell Warren and William Simpson Elkin Foundation, the Turner Family Foundation and the Friends of the Museum.
