Truck driver lugs in $1 million

A 61-year-old truck driver is hauling in a $1 million Georgia Lottery win. James Galloway played the instant game $200 Million Cash Spectacular and won the million-dollar top prize.

The Short Stop, located at 1480 Millen Hwy. in Sylvania, sold the winning ticket.

Mr. Galloway, a resident of Fountain Inn, S.C., was passing through Georgia when he played $200 Million Cash Spectacular. He scratched the ticket in his truck before heading home.

“There it was!” he exclaims. “I saw a one and a bunch of zeros.”

According to Galloway, he and his wife Katherine immediately drafted a list of things to do with their winnings. “The first thing on there was to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina,” Galloway shares. “We’re also going to help our family and put the rest up.”

Galloway says he’s always been lucky.

“Everything has worked out pretty well for me. It all started about 40 years ago with Mrs. Galloway. I guess I owe it all to her.”
