Ruth Hearn, guidance counselor at Jenkins County High School, and Annette Cobb, CVAE instructor and VOCA Club advisor, sponsored a College/Career Fair at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center recently. Approximately 25 colleges were present, as well as several branches of the military. The local Georgia Forestry Commission was represented in the career area as well as a physical therapist from the Medical College of Georgia. Junior and senior students had the opportunity to tour the fair and speak with prospective college admissions counselors. Students learned the admission requirements for the colleges and were introduced to the many degree majors the colleges had to offer. The VOCA Club set up the fair, and they also provided refreshments for the college representatives.
