The Jenkins County Memorial Library is the proud new owner of a RollSeal Ultima 35 EZload Laminator. The laminator will laminate things no larger than a sheet of copy paper or legal size paper. The public will be able to come here for any small laminating projects. There will be charges for the laminating.
The winner of the Create-ACreature was Keisha Carter. The second place winner was Shyneica Jones and third place winner was Nicholas Bragg. Honorable mentions went to Shaniyah Jones, Christopher Bragg, Tyler Taylor and Jacob Nelson. These kids did an exceptional job.
Storytime at the library is each Wednesday at 11 a.m. "Miss" Joanne, "Miss" Constance and "Miss" Myrt always have great stories and crafts planned. It is easier for a child to learn to read when they are familiar with books and become accustomed to being read to. This is a plus for your child when they start to school. Bring your child for a fun Wednesday morning.
On Friday, Aug. 4, the "Movie of the Week" will be "The Thief Lord." This epic tale tells the story of two boys who, after the death of their mother, flee their mean aunt and head for Venice, Italy. There they join up with a band of abandoned kids whose leader, Scipio, the mysterious "Thief Lord," leads them into a world of robbing the rich to support themselves. They win the heart of the detective sent to find them and begin an adventure that leads them to an old merry-go-round believed to have special powers. This movie will steal your heart.
