Seeking repayment of premiums or co-payments from Pat D plans
What should a person do if she/he paid out-of-pocket drug costs because the person needed to fill a prescription before receiving a plan membership card or confirmation
The person can be
e i m b u r s e d
h r o u g h the following four steps: save the original receipt from the pharmacy; call the customer service number on the membership card, read the plan's printed materials or look on the plan's member web site to find out about the reimbursement process; get a copy of the plan's claim submission or reimbursement form, if needed; and submit the completed form and the original receipt to the plan. What should a person do if she/he has qualified for the low-income subsidy (LIS) but is charged an incorrect deductible, co-payment or premium amount?
Contact the plan to find out how to submit a claim for reimbursement. The original receipt may need to be submitted with the claim. The Medicare drug plan will refund any amount that is due.
How will pharmacies be reimbursed for payments they made on behalf of unidentified dual eligibles who live in longterm care facilities and qualify for the $0 co-payment?
Pharmacies will receive a onetime payment for the amount of any uncollected co-payments for people who were mistakenly identified as having to pay copayment amounts.
