Cong. Barrow and Sen. Powell to host Town Meeting Aug. 3

Twelfth District Congressman John Barrow and District 23 State Senator J.B. Powell will host a Town Hall Meeting in Millen 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, to discuss the recent announcement by Jockey International to outsource 203 jobs to Jamaica, Honduras, Costa Rica and El Salvador. The meeting will be held at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center on Barney Avenue.

Representatives from some of the areas local technical colleges have been invited to provide details about job training and educational opportunities. In addition, representatives from the Georgia Department of Labor and caseworkers from Cong. Barrow's office will also be on hand to outline state and federal support services available to individuals who have lost their jobs.
