Wilson going to national scholarship pageant

Sarah Nicole Wilson of Millen was a top ten finalist at the 67th annual Miss Georgia State Forestry Scholarship Pageant held Saturday, June 10, at the Performing Arts Center of Tift County High School in Tifton. She represented Emanuel County Forestry in the Junior Miss (10 - 12 years of age) division. She will now advance to the Miss United States National Forestry Scholarship Pageant to be held Saturday, Sept. 2, in Tifton.

Nicole was presented the "Best Personality" award out of almost 60 contestants in her age division. She received a mahogany picture frame and a trophy. She also received a trophy for being selected as a top 10 finalist.

Nicole is the 10-year-old daughter of Lindy and Kytrena Wilson of Millen. She is the granddaughter of Woodrow and Sarah Wilson, also of Millen, and Harold and Julia Martin of Wrightsville. She has one sister, Christina "Scoot" Jenkins.

Nicole is an upcoming fifth grade student at Jenkins County Elementary School where she is an honor student. Nicole loves to cheer, play softball and dance.

She is very proud of her accomplishments and feels privileged to participate in the national pageant. She anticipates promoting the forestry industry all over the state.
