The Man of My Dreams by Curtis Sittenfeld ~ Hannah Gavener is 14 in the summer of 1991. In the magazines she reads, celebrities plan elaborate weddings; in Hannah's own life, her parent's marriage is crumbling. Somewhere between these two extremes lies the answers to love's most bewildering questions. Over the next decade, Hannah finds the questions become more, rather than less, complicated.
Proof Positive by Phillip Margolin ~ Doug Weaver is a defense attorney who always believes the best of his clients, and Jacob Cohen, on trial for murder, is no exception. Jacob may be homeless and mentally ill, but Doug can't imagine that this meek and intensely religious man could have killed and dismembered a woman. Yet Bernard Cashman, a forensic expert at the Oregon State Crime Lab, finds evidence that indisputably connects Cohen with the crime.
Lies at the Altar by Dr. Robin L. Smith ~ This shows every couple how to take the wedding vows they made in earnest and in innocence, and turn them into a promise to build a happy, healthy, satisfying and long-lasting marriage.
Heart of the World by Linda Barnes ~ When private investigator Carlotta Carlyle is wakened by a late-night phone call, she discovers that her "little sister," Paolina, the child with whom she was paired years ago by a local mentoring program, is missing. Carlotta combs the Boston streets looking for Paolina, torn between anger at the thoughtless teenage runaway and anxiety that something has really happened to her.
City of Shadows by Ariana Franklin ~ This is an enthralling novel of historical suspense set in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s-a decadent, turbulent time in which a proud nation scarred by defeat, deprivation and debauchery will become the fertile breeding ground for the rise of National Socialism.
Break No Bones by Kathy Reichs ~ When Temperance Brennan is summoned to South Carolina to fill in for a negligent colleague, she is stuck teaching a lackluster archaeology field school in the runs of a Native American burial ground on the Charleston shore. But when Tempe stumbles upon a fresh skeleton among the ancient bones, his old friend Emma Rousseau, the local coroner, persuades her to stay on and help with the investigation. When Emma reveals a disturbing secret, it becomes more important than ever for Tempe to help her friend close the case. Websites of interest available
