Janie Lewis McMillan of Millen died Sept. 23

Mrs. Janie Kimbrell Lewis McMillan, 89, of Millen died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006.

Her funeral was held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Millen Baptist Church. Entombment was in the Millen Cemetery.

Mrs. McMillan was born Aug. 25, 1917 in Screven County, but lived most of her life in Jenkins County. She was a member of the Millen Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class, Vera Thorne Circle and the Thirty Niners.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Emerson McMillan.

Survivors include a son, Robert G. Lewis of Millen; three daughters, Janie Ruth Edenfield and Kim (Bill) Wasden, both of Millen, and Karen (Ron) Washburn of Savannah; four stepsons, Emerson (Martha) McMillan, Ivey (Mary) McMillan, Bill McMillan and Wayne McMillan, all of Millen; a sister, Mary (Wayburn) Roberts of Millen; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Billy Burroughs, Dale Thompson, Wayburn Thompson, Arnold Kimbrell, Dale Kimbrell, Lenward McMillan and Brad Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers were Butch Lewis, Townsend Lewis, Todd Edenfield, Tracy Edenfield, Tyron Edenfield, W.T. Wasden III, Dallas Washburn, Erick Bernard, Cutler Bernard, Robert Paul Gunn and Drake Collins.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131, in honor of great-granddaughter Emily Edenfield.
