Mr. Roy Hendley, 82, of Millen died July 23

Mr. Roy Hendley, 82, of Millen died Sunday, July 23, 2006.

His funeral was held 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at the Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Perry Hearn and David Hudson officiating. Burial was in the Paynes Chapel Cemetery with the Revs. Ray Freeman and Brad Boynton officiating.

Mr. Hendley was a longtime resident of Jenkins County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Jockey International, Inc. He was a farmer and a member of the Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his three sons and daughters-in-law: Joe (Eloise) Hendley, Craig (Darlene) Hendley and Ronnie (Rhonda) Hendley, all of Millen; a daughter: Jimmie Faye Hendley White of Millen; three sisters: Josie Womack of Millen and Enice Johnson and Jimmie Elliott, both of Sardis; eight grandchildren, Rosanna Hendley, Katrina McMillan, Maranda Lane, River Hendley, Melissa White, Dustin Hendley, Kayla Hendley and Ryan Hendley; and two great-grandchildren, Trent and Caleb Lane.
