The Swainsboro Technical College Foundation has announced its annual campaign for 2006.

The Trustees of Swainsboro Technical College Foundation, a group of dedicated community leaders, began soliciting contributions for this cause on Nov. 13. The campaign for 2006 is asking for support for all the college's programs, and especially strategic initiatives in healthcare programs, environmental programs and industrial/technical programs.

"We are trying to contact everyone we can, in each of the counties in our service area of Candler, Johnson, Jenkins, Treutlen and Emanuel," commented Garry Pittman, Chairman of the Foundation. "Our Trustees are working hard to give everyone a chance to help Swainsboro Technical College."

Dr. Richard Thornton, Interim President of STC, noted, "We are very excited about our new programs and appreciative of the support we have received from our local communities. Contributions from individuals and businesses have enabled us to accomplish things that would have otherwise been impossible.

"The goal for 2006 of $100,000 established by our Trustees is certainly attainable, and hopefully we will surpass it. With the state

budget being reduced, the role of our foundation is becoming more vital to Swainsboro Technical College accomplishing its mission."
