This past weekend I had the privilege of taking seven high school 4-H’ers to Rock Eagle for Fall Forum. This event was established by the Senior Board for senior students. While there, Jenkins County had three students who taught workshops ranging in size from 8 to 40 students. Danielle Dieteman taught Dog Care and Training. Adam Lanier taught about Military Deployment and its effects on the community. Becca Rich taught about Energy Efficient Housing and displayed her fair exhibit during a 4-H Festival. Other students who attended were Heather Brigdon, Charlotte Davis, Marah Johnson, and Justin Lanier.
Now that the Christmas activities are almost complete, it is time to start focusing on portfolios again! If we can get them completed before Christmas holidays, you will have two whole weeks to forget about it before it’s time to start working on your demonstration. They are due December 19th! That’s just over a week away. Once you complete one really good portfolio, all you have to do is edit it every year from then on. It will make the process much easier. *JUNIORS,* most of you are about finished with your information, so don’t forget to bring your pictures with you the next time you come to the office. If it is talked about in your portfolio, we need a picture of it. If you have a question about a picture, bring it anyway and we will decide.

The ‘Kisses 4 Christmas’ contest at the middle school ended last week, with one lucky teacher voted to have to kiss a pig! During the 4- H/Basketball Pep Rally on January 10th, the newest addition to your coaching staff is going to have to pucker up! Congratulations Coach Hodges!
