Braving temperatures in the teens Dec. 9 and 10, Truedogs, 16-0, baseball took on teams from across the nation as USSSA Baseball brought teams from Savannah and Dublin, Aiken and Columbia, S.C., Chicago, Ill. and
even the state of Delaware to Diamond Lakes Regional Park in Augusta to compete in the Annual Holiday Wood Bat Bash.
From the first pitch, Truedogs found themselves in a true junk-yard brawl as they
battled some great teams in extreme weather conditions. Down 6-2 in their final at bat in game 4 on Sunday, Truedogs once again fought back with two outs to tie the game and send it into extra innings. They eventually won 8-
6 to finish the tournament with a 2-2 record, which was good enough for fourth place among eight very good teams.
The opportunity and experience gained from this weekend will benefit these young men in the future.
