Church News New Birth Missionary New Birth Missionary Baptist Church will sponsor a pre-New Year’s Gospel Explosion on Saturday, Dec. 30, beginning at 4 p.m. Featured groups include Stars of Faith, The Gospel Explosions, S&B Brotherhood, Golden Voices, Mighty Stars of Faith, Pilgrimaire and the Screven County Male Chorus. Watch Night Services will be held Sunday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. Pastor Anthony Gadson invites the public to attend. Community Youth Sunday Community Youth Sunday will be hosted by the Nannie E. Williams United Methodist Church on Dec. 31, at 11:30 a.m. The speaker will be Mrs. Regina Davis of Millen. Mrs. Davis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Roberson and a 1985 graduate of Jenkins County High School. After graduation, she was employed by Jockey International for many years. She continued her education at Swainsboro Technical College and Ogeechee Technical College, earning degrees in Clerical Office and Microcomputer Management. She has worked as manager of the Edenfield Apartments in Millen. While holding that position, she was awarded the Manager of the Year award. In recent years, she was promoted and is currently district manager for the Boyd Management Company which is based in Columbia, S.C. Mrs. Davis is a member of the Jenkins County Booster Club. She enjoys working with young people and is a devoted member of Williams Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she serves as choir director. She and her husband, Jimmy Davis, reside in Millen. They have two children and two grandchildren. The public is invited to attend these services. Watch Night Service Parker Grove Baptist Church of Rockyford will have a Watch Night Service beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30. The public is invited to attend. |
