Reception to be held to honor MLK parade grand marshals

The Millen-Jenkins County Martin Luther King Celebration Committee will hold a reception in honor of the 2007 parade grand marshals, Pamelia Ann “Pam” Dwight, Irene M. Drummer, Christine Stripling and Diane McNeely Thursday, Dec. 28, at Morrison Grove Baptist Church.
The event will also include review of the 2007 festivities, refreshments and entertainment.
The public is invited.
Dwight serves as a parent educator with the Family Enrichment Center of Jenkins County. Before this, she held many positions in both government and private industry. As a newlyelected county commissioner, Pam pledges to continue to provide quality service for our community. She is an active member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church
where she serves as church pianist. She holds a membership in the Millen Optimist Club, where she has served in the positions of president, secretary treasurer and Lt. governor. Her other interests include music, travel and reading.
Drummer is an outstanding citizen of Jenkins County who has dedicated her life to serving her community. She is active with the Jenkins County Family Enrichment, Morrison Grove Baptist Church, where she serves as treasurer and youth director, Voices of Inspiration Community Choir and the Zeta Amicae of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. For her work in empowering leaders for New Millennium, she received the prestigious Renaissance Award.

She is the wife of Morgan Charles Drummer and they have two children and one grandchild. She is an active member of the She is retired from the Jenkins County School System after working 36 years as a paraprofessional, and she continues to work for the betterment of all students in Jenkins County as a newly-elected member of the Jenkins County Board of Education.
Stripling is employed by the Jenkins County Board of Education as a graduation coach at Jenkins County High School. She is a 1979 graduate of JCHS where she earned the honor of Salutatorian. She graduated from Middle Georgia College with an ABA in business administration, Georgia Southern University with a human resource management degree, and Walden University with a MS in education curriculum, instruction and assessment.

Lane Grove Baptist Church, where she serves as youth director, and Pilgrim Missionary Convention, where she is 3rd district youth president.
She is married to Oswald Perry Stripling. They have three children, Candice Nicole, Geoffrey and Jeremy Deon. She is the eighth of nine children born to Mrs. Rosa Lee Reese and the late Mr. General Reese.
McNeely is principal of JCHS and has served as assistant principal for several years.
