Everett Siggers, 71, of Sardis died March 22

Everett Thomas Siggers, 71, resident of Sardis, entered into rest on Thursday, March 22, 2007.

He was born May 31, 1935 in Chambers County, Ala., to the late Theodore Siggers and Gladys Mae Winslett Siggers.

He retired from, and was co-owner of RSR Builders, which is a building contractor in Millen. He was a member of the Bonnell- Hickman American Legion Post #180/Sardis and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman M. Siggers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Voncile C. Siggers; a daughter, Dee Ann Hall; a grandson, Joshua Bowden, both of Columbus, Ga.; a daughter, Patsy R. Parham (David) of Evans; grandsons, Eric Brown of Augusta, and Chris Robinson, of Bartow; brothers, James Radford Siggers (Peggy) of Lanett, Ala., Jackie L. Siggers (Aiko) of Savannah; a sister, Peggy Ann Harper (Jesse) of LaGrange, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Karen Zeigler and the Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating.

Pallbearers were Ray Roberts, Fred Roberts, Bobby Lambert, Ned Chance, Edward Thompson and Darryl Buckley.
