New restaurant opens in Millen
The Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Little Pit restaurant, located at 623 Cotton Avenue. The business specializes in barbecue but offers a varied menu. Domestic dispute ends in death

An apparent domestic dispute ended with the death of a Millen man Saturday, Aug. 4. On Monday, agent Chuck Sullenger of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (G.B.I.) confirmed that William Clarence Hurt, 48, was killed by his wife, Jill Marie Clayton, 32, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday at their 3311 Floyd Road residence.
