Eagles lose 1, win 1 on the court
      Turnovers continue to be a problem for the Jenkins County High School Eagles basketball team. Against Portal, Friday, Jan. 5, the Eagles committed 17 turnovers that Portal converted into points. The Eagles eventually lost to Portal 76-51. Portal outscored the Eagles 14 to 5 in the second quarter.

STC releases president, merit list
      Swainsboro Technical College has released the names of area students named to the president's list and merit list for the 2006 fall quarter. To be named to the president's list, a student must complete 12 or more credit hours and have earned a quarterly grade point average of 3.6 or better.
