Lady Eagles earn first win of season

The Jenkins County High School Lady Eagles won their first game of the season Dec. 15 against Bryan County 59-50.

Scorers were Nicole Smith, 16 points; Tiffany Parker, 14 points; Jelisa Smith, 12 points; Dede Davis, 5 points; Latonia Lovett and Shaniquia Carter, 3 points each; and Tashe McClain, Deondre Lewis and Cortnei Earls, 2 points each.

The Lady Redskins were led by Liz Cross with 20 points and Amber Smith with 16 points.

On Dec. 16, the Lady Eagles lost to Screven County 79-39.

Scoring for the Lady Eagles were Jelisa Smith, 13 points; Nicole Smith, 11 points; Cortnei Earls, 9 points; Tashe McClain and Latonia Lovett, 2 points each; Tiffany Parker and Shaniquia Carter, 1 point each.

The Lady Gamecocks were led by Kiki Warren with 18 points and Kededra Evans with 16 points.

The Lady Eagles lost to Screven County in a tournament played Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 by a score of 62-38.

Scoring were Latonia Lovett, 11 points; Nicole Smith, 7 points, Tashe McClain, 5 points; Jelisa Smith and Cortnei Earls, 4 points each; Tiffany Parker, 3 points; and Dede Davis and Hillary Hudson, 2 points each.

The Lady Gamecocks were led by Kededra Evans with 19 points and A. Loundy with 14 points.

The Lady Eagles also lost to Statesboro 53-35.

Scorers were Tashe McClain, 11 points; Cortnei Earls, 8 points; Jelisa Smith, 6 points; Nicole Smith, 4 points; and Tiffany Parker, Latonia Lovett and Jennifer Jones, 2 points each.

The Lady Blue Devils were led by South Carolina signee Monnette Bennett with 22 points and Victoria Mikell with 12 points.
