Troopers release 2006 stats
      State Troopers from the Sylvania Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 48 traffic crashes during the year of 2006 in Jenkins County. Frison home catches fire
      The Millen/Jenkins County Fire Department responded to a call for assistance at the home of Laura Frison on Wilson Street Wednesday, Jan. 10. The home suffered considerable damage, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Wasden crowned 2007 Jr. Miss Sugarplum Fairy Queen
      The 2007 Sugarplum Fairy Pageant was held Saturday, Jan. 6, at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. Girls from surrounding counties competed in not only formal wear but sportswear as well. Tiffany Wasden was crowned the 2007 Jr. Miss Sugarplum Fairy Queen in the 10-12 year-old age division.
