Eloise Becton Cates, 85, of Millen died Jan. 16

Mrs. Eloise Becton Mobley Cates, 85, of Millen entered into rest Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Dry Branch Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Cates was the wife of the late Julian Cates. Her three sons, Wayne, Marvin and Terry Mobley and granddaughter, Michelle Mobley, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Cates was born in Jenkins County to Arthur and Rozie Lee Chance. She was the granddaughter of the late Reuben and Susie Chance and Jack and Lena Becton. She was a homemaker and member of Dry Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two stepchildren, Bobby Cates Jr. of Rincon and Delaine C. Becton of Palmyra, Va.; five sisters, Minnie Bell Sherrod, Doris Young and Pearl Myers, all of Millen, Ruth Williams of Statesboro, and Jean Skinner of Sylvania; five brothers, Robert Becton of Evans and Rudolph Becton, Johnny Becton, Otis Becton and Rudine Becton, all of Millen; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeff Becton, Richard Wallace, Chuck Cates, Ryan Cates, Russell Elliott and Ricky Saxon.

Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home in Millen.
