Shirley Lowe Gay died Jan. 19 at St. Joseph

Shirley Lowe Gay of Millen went home on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Jan. 21, at Elam Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Brown officiating.

Mrs. Gay was born in Alabama but lived in Millen for the past 53 years.

She is preceded in rest by her husband, Edward L. Gay, and her granddaughter, Amanda Gay Johnson.

Mrs. Gay was a devoted, loving and caring mother.

Survivors include her four children, Carmen (Bruce) Smith of Waynesboro, Don (Carol) Gay of Millen, Gail Johnson of Augusta and Jennifer (Ken) Anderson of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Lisa Smith, Richie (Marcie) Gay, Jessica Johnson and Joshua Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Megan Smith, Lincoln Gay, Logan Gay and Landon Gay.
