Melvin Gene Tinley, 74, of Millen died January 28

Mr. Melvin Gene Tinley, 74, of Millen died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 (today), at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Carl Ledbetter and Jamie Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Millen Cemetery.

Mr. Tinley was born in Jenkins County, was a U.S. Navy veteran and had retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as an enforcement officer.

He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and a former member of the Millen Lions Club and the Jenkins County Jaycees.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Woods Tinley of Millen; daughter, Joy Hagen of Appling; son, Todd Hagen of Martinez; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Mallard, Herman Wallace, LaFonza Carter, Mike Hall, Stewart Pursley, Floyd Zettler, Ronnie Lipsey and Gordon Sasser.

Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
