registration

The Jenkins County Recreation Department is holding registration for baseball and softball.

Parents of children ages 4-14 may come by the recreation department to signup and are asked to bring with you a copy of their birth certificate and insurance information.

Parents will be required to fill out a registration form for each child playing. The registration fee is due at the time of signup. The deadline for signup will be 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23.

The recreation department is also holding registration for coaches.

Anyone interested in becoming a coach can come by the recreation department and fill out a coach's application.

The deadline to signup is 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23.

All applicants are subject to a criminal background check.

Rattlesnake

Roundup Parade

The 40th annual Evans County Wildlife Club Rattlesnake Roundup Parade will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10 in downtown Claxton.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place float entries.

WTOC Channel 11 will be broadcasting this year's parade.

Parade applications are available at the Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce and Womack & Company. Float entries are encouraged.

Get Plugged In

Swainsboro Technical College wants you to "Get Plugged In" noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at STC Millen Center on Hendrix Steet.

Parent support

group

The Center for New Beginnings will hold its monthly parent support group meeting 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13, in the old fellowship hall at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro.

The guest speaker will be a Discovery Toys representative. Childcare will be provided.

Millen Lions Club

The Millen Lions Club will hold its annual pancake supper at the Millen Community House Saturday, Feb. 24. Serving time is from 5-8 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased from any Lions Club member or at the door. Proceeds of the sale will be used to purchase eye glasses for those who qualify. Tickets are $5 each.
