Lady Eagles win two, drop one

The Lady Eagles continued their winning streak by defeating Savannah Country Day 46-43 in Savannah Friday, Jan. 19, in a hardfought game, but were thrown off track by Calvary at home Saturday, Jan. 20.

Against Savannah Country Day, the Lady Eagles were led in scoring by sophomore Tashe McClain with 16 points and freshman Cortnei Earls with 12. Jelisa Smith had 8 for the night; Latonia Lovett, 5; Tiffany Parker, 3; and Shaniqua Carter, 2.

The Lady Eagles scored only one point in the second quarter against Calvary finally losing 55- 24.

Senior Jelisa Smith led for the night with 9 points. Sophomore Nicole Smith had 6; Dede Davis, 4; Shaniqua Carter, 3; and Latonia Lovett, 2.

The Lady Cavs were led be Katie Covington with 20 points; and Natalie Paris, 10.

The Lady Eagles were able to pick themselves up and slaughter Bryan County 59-26 Friday, Jan. 26, in Millen.

They were led by Jelisa Smith with 15 points; Nicole Smith, 11; Tashe McClain, 10; Tiffany Parker, 8; Latonia Lovett, 7; Deondra Lewis, 4; and Cortnei Earls, 2.
