'Rollicking good time'
An Irish extravaganza is in the making for Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Burke County Office Park in Waynesboro. At 7:30 p.m., the Buddy O'Reilly Band will present "Twenty Years of Music & Dance" - a 'spirited' concert featuring Irish music and champion step-dancer Katie Baughman. The group has gotten rave reviews along their tour of the southeast, including a thumbs-up from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and a recommendation from the Georgia Arts Council. The band is noted for its instrumentals and interplay between the fiddle, flute, uilleann and Irish bagpipes. Their play list will range from traditional Irish jigs and reels to sean-nos in ancient tongue and Irish- American sing-alongs.
