Jeselnik awarded rank of Eagle Scout

JAMES CHRISTOPHER JESELNIK JR.
James Christopher Jeselnik Jr. was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement in scouting.

He was presented the Eagle badge as part of a special ceremony Dec. 16, 2006 at the Presbyterian Church in Carrollton. A reception was held in the church's fellowship hall following the ceremony.

Christopher has been involved in scouting since the first grade, when he and his family moved from Swainsboro to Villa Rica.

To earn the Eagle Scout rank, Christopher had to fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service and outdoor skills. Of the boys who join a Boy Scout troop, only about 4 percent earn the Eagle Scout rank.

Christopher is the son of Chris and Dianne (Weeks) Jeselnik of Villa Rica. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lucian A. Weeks of Wadley and Mrs. Thelma Jeselnik of Millen and the late James A. Jeselnik.

He is a 2006 graduate of Villa Rica High School and currently attends the University of West Georgia in Carrollton.

He continues to be active in scouting by volunteering as a leader to his former troop during events such as the annual Boy Scout Summer Camp at Woodruff State Park in Blairsville. Christopher's younger brother has followed in his footsteps and is currently the Senior Patrol Leader for the troop.
