Parade winners announced

The Millen-Jenkins County Martin Luther King Celebration Committee recently announced the 2007 parade winners. They are as follows:

+ Floats - first place, Skull Creek Baptist Church; second place, Morrison Grove Baptist Church; and third place, Gordon Grove Baptist Church;

+ Walkers - Sandhill Baptist Church; second place, Millen Better Hometown;

+ Truck - first place, First Baptist Church; second place, Friendship Baptist Church; and third place, Kids Estate Day Care;

+ Car - first place, Welcome Baptist Church; second place, Millen City Councilman James Ford; and

+ Novelty - first place, J.B. Young representing Serenity Personal Care Home.

The committee would like to thank all churches, clubs, groups, individuals and businesses for doing a great job with these entries. Awards were presented during the closing activities at Bethel A.M.E. Church following the parade.
