Chris Hatcher speaks to Millen Rotary Club Chris Hatcher, the new head football coach for the Georgia Southern University Eagles, was the guest speaker at the Wednesday, Feb. 21, meeting of the Millen Rotary Club. Hatcher has a proven track record as a head coach, cap- turing the national championship in 2004 and recording a .864 winning percentage during his 7-year tenure at Valdosta State. The Macon native spent one year as quarterbacks/tight ends coach at the University of Central Florida where he worked with Miami Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper, then three years working with the quarterbacks at the University of Kentucky where he worked under former VSU head coach Hal Mumme. Awards and honors Hatcher has accumulated include:2004 AFCA National Coach of the Year, Johnny Vaught Coach of the Year, Macon Touchdown Club Coach of the Year, Atlanta Touchdown Club Coach of the Year, Offensive Coordinator for the East Squad at the Hula Bowl and NCAA Division II National Champions. |
