The Jenkins County Extension Service hosted the Agricultural Appreciation Banquet Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Jenkins County Agriculture Center. Active farmers and key individuals who have served the industry were recognized during the event.
Ed Wilson presented the Lifetime Service Award to Ernest Thorne Jr. for 45 years of service to the agriculture industry.
Lamar Black inducted longtime extension agent Harold Brantley into the Jenkins County Agriculture Hall of Fame. The award was accepted by his family.
An Agriculture Appreciation award was present by Bobbie Mobley to Wyndell Bell for 20 years of service on the Farm Service Agency county committee, and Lannier Lanier presented retired extension agent J.C. Douglas with the Distinguished Service award.
Prior to the presentation of awards, those attending en- joyed a delicious meal as clips from previous Dairy Festivals played. Entertainment was provided by Will Gay who sang gospel and country tunes for listening enjoyment.

The evening concluded with the awarding of several nice door prizes.
