Charles Grayson "Don" Watts, 65, died Feb. 19 Charles Grayson "Don" Watts, 65, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Oakridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Watts officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Mr. Watts was born in Elgin to the late George and Eva Hornsby Watts. He was a medical technologist for over 42 years having worked at Jeff Davis Hospital in Prentiss, Miss.; Washington County Memorial Hospital, Sandersville; and Jenkins County Hospital, Millen. He was a member of Sisters Baptist Church in Sandersville and a former member of Sandersville Lions Club and member of the Directors Committee. He was also a past commander of Sandersville American Legion. Mr. Watts was a United States Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete Smith and Dickie Watts. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Langley Watts; son, Alex G. Watts and his wife, Tracie, of McCormick; sisters, Doris Gilmore of Pensacola, Fla., Linda Hastings of Orlando, Fla. and Anne Corbett of Garden City; brothers, Bobby Smith of W. Columbia and Willie Smith and Lavon Watts, both of Elgin. Memorials may be made to the Oakridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 596 Oak Ridge Church Road, Kershaw, SC 29067. Kornegay Funeral Home Lugoff-Elgin Chapel was in charge of arrangements. |
