Oak Hill area to get new fire station
A meeting was held recently Phase III of the five-year protection master plan of the North Jenkins County Volunteer Fire Department (NJCVFD) has begun, and Otis Dailey has been selected to represent the Oak Hill area as a member of the board of directors. with Oak Hill residents and the process of establishing a volunteer fire department in the area began.

The station will cover a 5 mile radius to include from Clayton Road south to the county line and the Ogeechee River.

A volunteer fire department will help area residents as well as lower insurance rates.

The public is invited to participate in the planning process. Another meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Discussion will include organizing, training, fund-raising, site locations and grants.

Refreshments will be served.
