Ruth Hearn, Jenkins County High School Guidance Counselor, met with all eighth-grade students on Tuesday, March 13, to discuss their transition to high school. Representatives from Swainsboro Technical College and East Georgia College also made presentations to the students. Particular emphasis was placed on diploma/career choices.

A parent/student orientation meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at the Jenkins County Ag Center. The Principal, Guidance Counselor, Graduation Coach, and high school teachers will be available for guidance and questions. Items to be discussed will include diploma choice, Georgia High School Graduation Tests, End of Course Tests, attendance, and discipline policies at the high school.

This is a very important meeting and it is recommended that all current eighth-grade students and their parents attend to ensure a smooth and successful transition to Jenkins County High School.
