Earl B. Burke Sr., 66, of Millen died March 15

Mr. Earl B. Burke Sr., 66, of Millen died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at his residence.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at West Millen Baptist Church.

Burial followed at 2 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Garden in Augusta.

Mr. Burke was born in Jenkins County and was a retired firefighter for the Millen Fire Department and a member of West Millen Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommie Raffield.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Cleveland Burke; son, Earl B. Burke Jr. of Waynesboro; stepson, Andy Bunch of Portal; stepdaughter, Hilda Hill of Boneville; two brothers, Robert Burke of Sardis and Arnold L. Burke of Aiken, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Daniel Burke, Earl B. Burke III, Brittany Burke, Darrell Hill, Natalie Wilson, Drew Bunch and Randi Bunch.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Hilderbrandt, Harry Joyner, Joe Wilson, Rufus Small, Pat Johnston, Dewayne Herrington, Robert Oglesby and Rew Herrmann.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Millen Fire Department.

Memorials may be made to the Millen Fire Department. Crowe-Fields Funeral Home of Millen was in charge of arrangements.
