Caldwell receives education specialist degree in creative arts
Wynona Roberts Caldwell recently received an Education Specialist degree in creative arts from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass.
She is the daughter of Cora Roberts of Millen and the late Kelly Roberts. She is married to the Rev. Gerald Caldwell, pastor of CornerStone of Faith Ministries Inc. in Augusta. Their daughter, Ebony Faith, is a junior and honor roll student at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School.
Caldwell also holds a Masters of Education from Augusta State University in Augusta.
She is a special education teacher in Richmond County. She is employed at Sue Reynolds Elementary School, where she works with pre-k students who are significantly developmentally delayed. She has been teaching in Richmond County for 27 years.
In 1997, while working with severely intellectually disabled students at Bungalow Road Elementary School, she was named Teacher of the Year and again in 2002, while working at Sue Reynolds Elementary School.
As an educator, it is her belief that students can learn; however, not all students learn at the same rate.
"My greatest accomplishments in education are when I not only allow my students the freedom to fulfill their potential, no matter how great or how small, but also when I offer the support and guidance needed fro individual successes within any given situation," said Caldwell.
