Jenkins County residents Jim Andrew and wife Mary are featured in this month's issue of Georgia Electric Membership Corporation's (GEMC) Georgia Magazine. Jim is the administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Utilities Program, having been appointed to the post in November 2005 by President Bush.

Jim has a long history of service in the rural electric industry, and is well deserving of the recognition he has received and the position he now holds.

Millen/Jenkins County is featured on the Georgia Department of Transportation's website as the DOT calls attention to the state's 10th Scenic Byway designation, located here. The information includes a couple of photos of the county.

Just Google "Georgia Department of Transportation", click on the first site that comes up and then click on the Millen/Jenkins County article in the "News Item" section at the bottom left.

It is very nice to see our city and county presented in a positive manner.
