On March 24, Jenkins County took 32 5th and 6th grade 4-H'ers to Effingham County to compete in District Project Achievement (DPA). This is one of the hardest competitions we offer for this age group. But you would have never known it! During the awards ceremony, the phrase "from Jenkins County" was called out quite frequently. I was, and still am, very proud of every child that participated.

Out of 32 participants, 24 placed in the top 3, meaning over 75% of our children placed in the top 3! That is much above average. We had 12 first place winners, 8 second place and 4 third place. If we were able to continue presenting awards up to 5th place, 31 of 32 placed in the top 5!! The following students participated: Dalvin Anderson, Lani Arthur, Tajuon Austin, Robin Boone, Steven Brantley, Brandon Cherry, Macy Clarke, Ricky Dawson, Irene Dieteman, DeAnna Dorsey, Willie Emory, Nate Evans, Shae Fail, Rashida Frison, Donnie Gay, Amanda Harden, Arnetria Hills, Airelle Larisey, Tionette Lee, Kristin McLamb, Taniqua McNeely, Tiana Milton, Gaige Ridings, Taylor Roberts, Jonquette Sanders, Jamiah Scott, Zavondric Shingleton, Krystal Summers, Tyler Taylor, Jamaine Torrance, Byron Williams, and Jakovia Williams.

Teen Leaders who volunteered their time Saturday morning to help were: Charlotte Davis, Adam Lanier, Cierra Joyner, and Becca Rich.

If you see any of these 4-H'ers please congratulate them. They all worked really hard, and it paid off!
