Later in the week, the Eagles battled all afternoon in Thomson to pull out a victory in the last race to beat the Bulldogs.

"Our guys have never gotten to travel to Thomson for a track meet," said coach Waters. "Their focus was unmatched all day long, even during the almost 2-hour bus ride there. They slept, and I didn't hear a word. You would have thought it was the region championship on the line."

The Eagles went first and second in the 4x400 relay to score 74 points, beating Thomson's 67 and Lincoln County's 9.
