This time of the year, things don't seem like they're ever gonna slow down! We have a busy schedule the next couple of weeks. First off, bright and early this Saturday morning our Dairy Judging Team will be traveling to Athens for the
State Dairy Judging Competition. Team Members are: Becca Rich, Charlotte Davis, Cierra Joyner, Danielle Dieteman, Irene Dieteman, Kyle Gearheart, Tyler Gearheart, Macy Clarke, Melissa Whits, Tabitha Trent, Jaymee Moore and Jessica Herrmann. This team has practiced very hard for weeks now. If you see any of them, please wish them luck.
The 4-H Project SAFE (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) Shotgun Team has been practicing for weeks for the district match next weekend, April 21. The District Competition will be hosted by Jenkins County at Hanging Rock Plantation. Teams from all over the district will be here shooting to qualify for the state competition. In order to qualify for the state match, juniors must bust 16 of 25 skeet and seniors 20 of 25 at the district match. Students participating in the county qualifying match are: Trey Black, Matthew Boulineau, Lauren Bragg, Steven Brantley, Taylor Brinson, Will Brinson, Blais Chance, Callie Dailey, Mason Davis, Tiller Gay, C.J. Green, Dylan Hargrove, Dustin Hendley, Clarke Jenkins, Cody Johnson, Paige Johnson, Thomas Joyner, Tyler Kirkland, Jake Knight, Jacob Lindsey, Derek McLeod, Jared Orvin, Levi Proctor, Mat- thew Rocker, Race Weathersby, Trevor Weathersby, Colton Wilkerson, and Dallas Wilson.
Our annual 4-H Awards Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, so go ahead and mark your calendars. If you are part of the entertainment, please DO NOT forget to come in during your scheduled times and practice. There is a lot for you to learn! If you need to come in, you will have gotten a letter in the mail. Parents- if your child has been selected to participate, please try and get them to their practices. There are only 3-4 practices and it will be worth the effort. If your child will NOT be able to participate, please let us know.
Seniors- Senior Conference at Jekyll Island is scheduled for April 27-29. If you wish to participate, it is $60 per person and you must register by Friday. The theme for this year's event is "The Amazing 4-H Race." You should have received a letter in the mail a while back. If you need additional information, please let me know.
If you signed up for camp this summer, your second payment is due. Please stop by and pay on your balance as soon as possible. Camp will be here before you know it! Have a great week!
