Southern Memorial Day

The Emanuel Rangers Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will observe Confederate Memorial Day with a special program 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21, in the George L. Smith Room of the Franklin Memorial Library in Swainsboro.

The UDC will present military service awards to four veterans in recognition of their patriotic service to the state of Georgia and the United States.

Dr. John Derden, noted local historian, will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served following the program.

South Jenkins District 6 VFD program

The South Jenkins District 6 VFD Inc. will present a program 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the station, located at 4822 W. Old Savannah Road.

A prize will be given away at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend.

Arts and Crafts Festival

The Magnolia Springs State Park 14th annual Arts & Crafts Festival & Living History Encampment has been canceled due to lack of response from food and craft vendors.

The festival will be reconsidered next year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
