Our annual 4-H Awards Program is scheduled for this Thursday, April 26. The theme is "Stars of Tomorrow." Students who are performing have been doing an excellent job coming in and practicing. I am very excited about it and can't wait to see everyone's hard work come together. The program will begin at 7 p.m

As I mentioned in last week's article, we had several students participate and do an excellent job in the Dairy Judging Contest in Athens on the 14th. Out of 11 counties, Jenkins County's juniors (6-8th grade) placed 5th and our senior team (9-12th grade) placed 4th. Jessica Herrmann received state recognition for being the third highest scoring junior in the state. These are all excellent accomplishments.

We have 13 seniors signed up to go to Senior Conference this weekend at Jekyll Island. During this event, seniors will be broken into teams and race through different challenges to try to find parts of a map, which will lead to their reward. It's designed to be a mini Amazing Race. On Saturday, they will spend the day at the beach, competing in different challenges and fun activities. The bus will leave from here on Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. Students will return on Sunday around 3:30 p.m. Don't forget to take your sunscreen!

There are several students who have signed up for camp that have not come in and paid their second payment. The entire camp cost should be paid by May 4th. Please stop by the 4-H Office and pay on your balance as soon as possible. Camp will be here before you know it! I will see many of you on Thursday!
