By Deborah Bennett Millen News Editor

WALKER
The trial of Rico Walker is set to begin next week in Jenkins County Superior Court with jury selection scheduled for Monday, May 14.

Walker is accused of the April 2006 murder of Jenkins County resident Steven Harley. In addition to murder charges, he is also charged with criminal attempt and tampering with evidence.

Co-defendant in the case, Tracy Harley, wife of the victim, pled guilty to murder March 16 in Screven County Superior Court and is expected to testify. Other charges against Harley, criminal attempt, tampering with evidence and two counts of making false statements/writings/concealment of facts, were dropped as part of her plea bargain.

Steven Harley's body was discovered in the couple's Hiltonia residence in the early morning hours of April 25, 2006 after Mrs. Harley called 911 and reported a burglary.
